Basketball....It's What We Do!

For outsiders looking in, Kentucky Basketball Fans seem a little crazy. And they're right...we are. We celebrate every win and mourn each and every loss. I'm not sure if there is really an explanation as to why the state shuts down when there is a game, other than this. Kentucky isn't really know for a lot. People from other states assume that we are a bunch of rednecks from the foothills of the mountains who walk around barefoot (but we totally are not). But basketball is something that we've always had....and something that we've always been good at. 7 NCAA titles and counting.....

Today, we sealed the deal and we are off to the Final Four in the Big (BLUE) Easy. It's sort of ironic for me. Nearly 17 years ago my family moved away from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and relocated to New Orleans. And now, nearly two decades later, I have the chance to see my cats play in the Final Four for the second year in a row. It's really funny how life comes full circle sometimes. Had my family never relocated to Louisiana, I may not have this opportunity to see my boys do what they do best. Also, as far as I have been away over the years from the place I still consider "home", watching KY basketball has always been something that has kept me close to home.

For a long time, it has been on my bucket list to see the Cats cut down those nets. However, unlike many things on my bucket list, this is contingent on factors I can't control. But here I am....this time next week I will be in The Big Easy watching my boys.

Here's to you boys! Get out there and bring home #8...and help me strike one off the bucket list. Do what you do best...Basketball!
