As I have reached and surpassed the halfway mark of this music challenge, I have to say that I have enjoyed it. It has been nice to take a stroll down memory lane and reflect on songs that bring back memories for me. Songs that take me back to a place in time and songs that bring people back into my life. I honestly think that that there is a healing power to music. It helps us have fun, reminisce, and get over humps in our lives.
Today's challenge is a song that I used to love but now hate. This song takes me back to middle school. I remember it was the summer after 7th grade and my dad told me he was taking me out for a surprise. And what was it you ask? My very own CD player. Seeing that it was still the early 90s, this was a big treat seeing that I was still listening to tapes. So the two of us got into the car and headed out to Circuit City where he let me pick out my very first stereo (which might I add, took up much more space than my current iPod). Before we left, he let me pick out my first CD. It was none the less than Ace of Base. When I listen to them, they sound kinda weird now, but at that place in time, I couldn't have asked for better!
